Cheese is delicious! It’s probably on top of a lot of people’s list of favorites. While also being delicious and food porn worthy, it also has a lot of benefits for healthier teeth! The milk proteins natural in cheese makes the enamel stronger, not to mention the calcium benefits. Cheese is good, cheese is life!
2) Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar has been trending for a while now, and it’s true! The natural probiotic has a lot health benefits ranging from aiding stomach problems to even wound healing. It’s also great at removing stains from coffee and nicotine! However be careful, being high in acidity, it is recommended you dilute it and not let it sit for too long.
3) Mashed Strawberries
This was a secret shared by actress Catherine Zeta Jones! While strawberries may seem dark and stainful, the natural acids can actually eliminate food and drink stains! Just mash up 4 to 5 strawberries and rub the mashed mixutre accross your teeth for at least half an hour. Make sure to rinse it out well after!
4) Coconut Oil Pulling
Another trendy product has been coconut oil or VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil). It has a wide range of benefits used externally and internally! While there are many many ones up in the internet, one of the most popular uses has been teeth whitening. You can use a spoonful and rinse your mouth for 15mins or rub it all over your teeth like a toothpaste.
The former also has the added benefits of pulling out toxins!
5) Vegetables!
Vegetables – the sound of it is defaulted as health. The also do wonders for our teeth! Crunchy vegetables like celery and carrots help keep our teeth whiter because these vegetables are “abrasive”, thus, they can remove stains from the surface of our teeth. They also encourage saliva production, which helps minimize discoloration.
6) Activated Charcoal
Activatedhas also been showing up lately, not only in toothpastes but also in Ice Cream! It’s main health benefit is its effectivity in absorbing toxins ingested by the body. 8) Change your toothbrush every 3 months
The general advice of all dentist is very true, not just to sell more toothbrushes. Because after 3 months, the bristles in most toothbrushes are worn down plus the accumulated bacteria inside will be detrimental to oral health.
