Laser Teeth Whitening in Bangkok: Prices, How It Works and How It Compares with LED

July 18, 2025
Laser Teeth Whitening

Laser teeth whitening in Bangkok costs about 6,800 to 10,000 THB in dental clinics. A whitening gel is applied to your teeth and a laser is used to activate it, in a single visit of roughly an hour.

The Smile Bar doesn’t offer laser whitening. We do teeth whitening in Bangkok with an LED lamp, from 2,399 THB. This guide explains what laser whitening is, what it costs here, what studies say about laser vs LED, and how to choose.

In short

  • Price: 6,800 to 10,000 THB in Bangkok dental clinics. Promotions sit around 6,800 to 7,900 THB.
  • “Laser” is used loosely. Some clinics and directories file LED systems such as Zoom under “laser whitening”.
  • The gel does the whitening. Reviews of clinical trials have not shown that a laser gives a whiter result than other lights.
  • LED at The Smile Bar: 20-minute sessions, 2,399, 4,399 or 5,799 THB.

What is laser teeth whitening?

It’s an in-clinic whitening treatment. A peroxide gel is applied to the teeth, and a laser beam is passed over it to activate the gel.

What clinics mean by “laser”

The word is used in two ways, and it’s worth asking which one you’re being sold.

What the ad says What it may be
Laser whitening A real dental laser, used by a dentist
Laser whitening, Zoom Zoom, which uses an LED lamp, not a laser
Cool light, blue light, LED An LED lamp

Which lasers are used

  • Diode lasers are by far the most common in whitening studies.
  • KTP and erbium lasers are used in some clinics.

How much does laser teeth whitening cost in Bangkok?

Prices published by clinics and directories, checked on 13 October 2026:

Source Published price Good to know
Dr. Sunil Dental 6,800 THB Cleaning is 1,800 THB extra
Bangkok Smile Dental 7,500 THB Promotion. List price 10,000 THB
Clinic listings on WhatClinic 7,200 to 10,000 THB “From” prices
Bookimed From 6,800 THB Directory price

Several large clinics don’t publish a laser price at all: you have to ask.

What the price may not include

  • The check-up before whitening
  • A cleaning, often 1,000 to 2,000 THB more
  • A take-home kit
  • Any treatment needed first, such as a filling

What happens during a laser whitening session

  1. Check-up. A dentist checks your teeth and gums.
  2. Protection. Your gums and lips are covered. You wear protective glasses.
  3. Gel. The whitening gel is applied to the teeth.
  4. Laser. The dentist passes the laser over the gel, tooth by tooth or by section.
  5. Repeat and rinse. The cycle may be repeated before the gel is removed.

Clinics describe sessions of 45 to 90 minutes.

Does laser whitening work better than LED? What studies say

Review What it looked at What it found
2018 21 clinical trials of in-clinic whitening with and without light Light did not change how well whitening worked
2020 6 clinical trials comparing laser with other lights Laser did not increase the colour change, and did not reduce sensitivity
2024 28 earlier reviews No significant difference in colour change between techniques

In plain words: the gel does the work, whatever shines on it. These studies looked at whitening done in dental clinics. They don’t prove that one lamp is better or gentler than another, and that includes ours.

So the real differences between laser and LED are practical: where it’s done, how long it takes and what it costs.

Is laser teeth whitening safe? Sensitivity and side effects

  • Sensitivity is the most common side effect of any peroxide whitening. It’s usually temporary.
  • Gums can be irritated if gel touches them.
  • Studies disagree on whether light or laser makes sensitivity better or worse.
  • Tell the clinic if your teeth are already sensitive.
