What the rules say in Thailand
- Thailand follows the ASEAN cosmetic rules.
- Products sold directly to the public may contain only a trace of hydrogen peroxide.
- Stronger whitening products are reserved for dental practitioners.
That’s why you won’t see the peroxide strips you know from the US or the UK on the shelf of a Bangkok pharmacy.
Are Crest Whitestrips sold in Thailand?
Not officially, as far as we could find. Every listing we saw came from an independent marketplace seller, with prices ranging from 65 to 1,200 THB depending on the pack. A price that looks too good is a reason to be careful: we can’t tell you which listings are genuine.

Do whitening strips work?
Peroxide strips do whiten teeth, slowly.
- The evidence: a Cochrane review of 71 trials found that home whitening products whiten more than a placebo over two weeks to six months. It rated the evidence as low certainty.
- The speed: the American Dental Association notes that over-the-counter products can take significantly longer than professional whitening.
- The limit: only natural teeth whiten. Crowns, veneers and fillings stay the same colour.
Most strips sold through Thai shops are peroxide-free, so don’t expect the results you’ve read about for US strips.

Are whitening strips safe?
- Sensitivity is common. The American Dental Association says temporary tooth sensitivity can affect up to two-thirds of people who whiten, and usually settles within a few days of stopping.
- Gums can get irritated where the strip touches them.
- Follow the instructions. Wearing strips longer or more often than directed raises the risk.
- Stop and see a dentist if the pain is strong or doesn’t fade.

How to check a product before you buy
- Look for a Thai FDA notification number on the listing or the box.
- Check who the seller is, and read recent reviews.
- Compare the price with the brand’s price at home.
- Check the expiry date when it arrives.
What about home whitening kits?
A home kit is different from strips: a dental clinic makes trays to fit your teeth and gives you a gel to use for two to six weeks. Bangkok clinics list them at about 3,200 to 7,000 THB. - Pick your slot. We’re open every day from 10 am to 8 pm. Book online or walk in if a chair is free.
- Choose a package. Single (about 30 minutes), Double (60) or Triple (90). You can upgrade on the day.
- Shade check. We record your shade before and after.
- 20 minutes under the lamp. A low-concentration, pH-neutral gel with a UV-free LED lamp.
- Leave with a kit. A whitening toothpaste and mouthwash to take home.
